A total of 36 project proposals were received by the end of September 2019 after the German Research Foundation (DFG) had issued a call for proposals for the newly created SPP on polymer-based batteries. To select the best from this pool, the DFG held a review meeting on 11 and 12 December at which an international panel of experts scrutinised all the proposals. In lectures and a poster session, all proposals were presented by the responsible researchers and questions were answered.

In February, the DFG will announce which of the projects will be funded. They are expected to start in February or March 2020.
