The Organic Battery Days 2019 summarized in 5 words? Cutting-edge science in midsummer weather! From 3 to 5 June 2019, the creme de la creme of the steadily growing research community on the subject of organic batteries gathered at the CEEC Jena to exchange new research results on innovative battery materials and concepts. With 150 participants, 37 scientific lectures, 50 posters and a total of 8 sponsors, the event was a complete success.
The conference was opened by the Thuringian Minister of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society Wolfgang Tiefensee and by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences of the FSU Jena, Prof. Dr. Alexander Brenning. This was followed by a lecture by Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Nishide from Waseda University in Tokyo (Japan), a leading expert in the field of organic batteries, followed by many other lectures at the highest scientific level. There was also plenty of room for networking, for example at the Conference Dinner in the Botanical Garden or at the Thuringian Barbeque, with "Bratwurst" and beer.
