We are proud to share that Dr. Kevin M. Jablonka, a member of CEEC Jena (Center for Energy and Environmental Chemistry), has been awarded the “Best Research Environment 2024” prize for his leadership of the LAMA Lab: Laboratory for AI in Materials Science at the University of Jena.
This new award, jointly presented by Die Junge Akademie and the Volkswagen Foundation, recognizes research teams that exemplify excellent working conditions, clear communication, and a supportive team culture. Out of numerous applicants from across various scientific disciplines, ten winning teams were selected and honored during a ceremony held in Berlin on 7 June 2024.
The LAMA Lab stood out to the selection committee with its clearly defined group identity, transparent responsibilities, open communication structures, and a culture that embraces learning from mistakes. The group is funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation and serves as a model for modern, inclusive scientific collaboration.
