Arrival by plane

The nearest airports are Erfurt-Weimar (distance about 50 km) and Leipzig / Halle (distance about 90 km). From Erfurt you reach Jena by regional train over the station "Jena West" or by car over the highway A 4 direction Dresden. From Leipzig, you can usually reach Jena via the train station "Jena Paradies" or by car via the A9 motorway in the direction of Munich and from the Hermsdorfer Kreuz via the A4 in the direction of Frankfurt am Main.

Arrival by car

The city of Jena is located with the junctions "Jena-center" (formerly "Jena-Lobeda") and "Jena Göschwitz" on the A 4 motorway Dresden - Frankfurt am Main near the intersection "Hermsdorfer cross" (intersection of the A 4 with the A 9 Rostock - Munich).

Coming from the A 9 please take the A 4 direction Frankfurt am Main at the Hermsdorfer Kreuz. The best departure possibility of the A 4 is the connection point "Jena center" (formerly "Jena-Lobeda"). From there, take the expressway (Stadtrodaer Straße) towards the center.

Alternatively, you can take the exit "Jena-Göschwitz" and follow the signs to the city center.

Arrival by train

Jena has good connections to the rail network of Deutsche Bahn in both north-south and east-west directions. Individual train connections can be found on the Deutsche Bahn websiteExterner Link.

From the "Jena West" train station, the CEEC Jena can be reached in about 30 minutes on foot. Alternatively, you can take the number 15 bus to the city center. From the station "Jena Paradies" you need about 20 minutes on foot or get directly in the tram in the direction of the city center.

The CEEC II Jena can be reached from the city center in a few minutes on foot or by bus line 16 (stop Johannisplatz) or tram lines 1 and 4 (stop Spittelplatz).
